Things to do on the days you feel pretty good

  • Exercise! A balance of cardio and mild strength training is great, find an activity you love that makes you happy and it will be easier to stick to. Even though it is hard to work up the energy to exercise it will increase your energy overall. (Here are a few suggestions: Biking, running, swimming, Nia, Zumba, Power Yoga.)
  • Try to eliminate as much caffeine, alcohol and sugar from your diet that you can. Those substances can lead to energy highs and lows throughout the day, and change your sleep patterns
  • Visit a friend or do something you really enjoy
  • Try to knock a couple items off your to-do list
  • Pace yourself, try not to over do it on your good days, and stick to your normal sleeping routine (even though it is tempting to stay up late!)

Things to do when you feel ok

  • Try to stick to your normal routine as much as possible, working or going about your day as usual
  • Stretch or do a gentle physical activity like Yoga, Tai Chi, Feldenkrais or Qigong
  • Get some fresh air, go for a walk or sit outside
  • Get a massage, Thai massage, Reiki or other bodywork session
  • Eat lots of fruits, veggies and protein and drink plenty of water

Things to do when you are too tired or achy to leave the house

  • Take an Epsom salt bath
  • Lay on the floor and do some gentle stretching, especially restorative yoga posses
  • Drink herbal tea
  • Watch a movie you love and enjoy just laying still, it is ok to let yourself rest
  • Meditate
  • Listen to music
  • Read a magazine or book
  • Don’t be afraid to ask for help from a loved one or invest in help (i.e childcare, household tasks or grocery shopping)
